“Go and make interesting mistakes, make amazing mistakes, make glorious and fantastic mistakes. Break rules. Leave the world more interesting for your being here. Make. Good. Art.” ~Neil Gaiman
I typically paint what I find interesting and beautiful and if my art can evoke an emotion for someone else, then I feel even more blessed. I’ve lived in Texas all my life; from the Gulf coast, to the Hill Country, to my current residence in the diverse city of San Antonio. While I’ve tinkered in the visual arts since childhood, trained to be an architectural draftsman in college, I took up oil painting in earnest in 2014 during a workshop with renown sky-scape artist Phil Bob Borman. I've also studied with the distinguished artist Romel De La Torre, and today I enjoy membership at the "Coppini Academy of Fine Arts".
Even as my art continues to be an evolution, there is always a common theme throughout. I love to depict beauty, light, contrast, and natural design elements in everything I paint. The subject matter can range from landscapes and cloudscapes, to portraits and figurative subjects, but something about each creation must “catch my eye” or grab my attention for me to be inspired to create. Thanks for allowing me to share my art with you.
Thanks for visiting and I hope you see something that moves you. DS
